Amir Taghi

Born in 1996 in Houston, Texas, Amir Taghi is a self-taught fashion talent. His interest in dressmaking started at the young age of 5, when much of his time was spent in his Grandfather’s boutique, which specialized in high-end Italian men’s clothing. As an adolescent he began creating clothing for the women in his family.

At the age of 16, he opened his atelier where he created his first collection that consisted of eight outfits. He presented his first collection to the public at a fashion show held in his family’s home. He quickly won over the press and women of high society.

In the summer of 2012, Taghi entered into a partnership with David Peck, where his collection is currently made. That fall he presented his Spring/Summer 2013 collection in a private press showing followed by a weeklong trunk show at Tootsies. His third collection showcased delicate day dresses and elegant evening gowns in Spring 2013.

During the summer of 2013, Amir was offered a once in a life opportunity to intern with world-renowned designer, Oscar de la Renta. There he gained up and close experience with some of the world’s most talented couturiers, including Mr. de la Renta.

His Persian culture and the women in his life continue to inspire Taghi’s simple, elegant and sophisticated designs.
